A last-minute agreement Tuesday evening at Oakland University avoided a teacher walkout today, the first day of classes for students at the campus. Under the three-year deal, which is tentative requiring approval by the 495 members of the OU chapter of the American Association of University Professors, faculty would see salary increases each year, with a 3.2 percent the first year, 3.25 percent the second year and 3.33 percent the third year.
