Legislature ready to wrap up budgets

An AP story notes that state lawmakers hope to have an annual budget approved before they wrap up business in Lansing this week. The proposed budget would give a funding boost to Michigan public universities for the first time in recent years. The biggest winner would be Grand Valley State , with an increase pegged at 6 percent. Wayne State and Michigan Tech would receive the lowest proportional increases, at 2.5 percent.
