(Detroit) July 10, 2006—IC Datacom, an IT network services provider headquartered at TechTown, celebrates its tenth anniversary with an expansion into e-commerce. The company’s online store opens for business on July 14 with a launch celebration at TechTown’s monthly First Fridays networking soiree.
“Surveys show that e-commerce is steadily increasing,” says TechTown Executive Director Howard Bell. “By offering highly competitive prices and specialized customer service, IC Datacom is taking a well-calculated leap into online shopping at just the right time. Customers of any size in need of technology and office supply needs will love the convenience and quality.”
Founding partners Dwayne Carson and Terence Willis are executing this business growth strategy to fill a critical need in the marketplace. “Our virtual store will distinguish itself from others with in-person customer service,” says Carson, IC Datacom’s vice president. “Instead of customers driving to us, we come to you to help establish your account and personalize your online profile to maximize available discounts.”
IC Datacom’s online store offers more than 200,000 electronic products, including desktop and laptop computers, phones, digital cameras, camcorders, servers and firewalls. Also for sale are non-electronic office supplies. At www.ICDatacom.com/store, customers can purchase items by manufacturers such as Dell, Microsoft and Xerox, for shipment to their home or office.
Through a unique business model, 15 national distributors have been loaded into one online interface for both wholesale and retail sales, making top tier technology accessible without the higher prices charged by stores with overhead and commissioned sales people. Consistent discounts ranging from 5 percent to 35 percent will be available depending on volume and other factors.
“Today’s business environment is constantly transforming, competitive and challenging. We always stay a step ahead of the latest innovations in technology and now we’ve made it easier for our clients to stay at the forefront, too,” says Carson. Customers can call (313) 887-1297 or send an e-mail to info@icdatacom.com to schedule a on-site visit with an IC Datacom associate.
IC Datacom, a TechTown tenant since 2005, has been fulfilling metro Detroit’s corporate computing needs for a decade, including IT management services, video surveillance and network security, network design and system integration. With the addition of IC Datacom’s store, both old clients and new customers will have access to a vanguard source for electronic and technology supplies.
TechTown empowers entrepreneurs to build successful technology businesses that improve the quality of life for people across the country and around the world. At TechTown, we provide the support and access to capital needed to build high tech companies in Detroit.
