Wayne State Magazine Editor wins Writing Award

DETROIT – Michelle Franzen Martin, editor of Wayne State magazine, won an Award of Excellence in feature writing from APEX 2006, the 18th annual Awards for Publication Excellence.

Martin received the award for her in-depth feature article on Midtown Detroit’s resurgence and Wayne State’s role in it.
Martin has been editor of Wayne State magazine since 2004. A journalism graduate of Wayne State, she also is enrolled in the university’s Ph.D. in communication program.

She is a resident of Grosse Pointe Woods.

APEX 2006 is a national competition recognizing excellence in publications work by professional communicators.
