Drug-related deaths fall but crisis not over, officials say

This late-afternoon AP wire story on recent fentanyl-related deaths in Wayne County mentions that Wayne State 's researchers are conducting a study of a new version of the drug that may be more resistant to abuse. Dr. Charles Schuster, director of the substance abuse area in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences, pointed out that the study is part of research aimed at limiting the "abuse potential" of drugs with a legitimate medical use.
