Wayne State University conference to explore careers and volunteerism in youth sports

The Wayne State University Sports Administration Program, a part of the College of Education, and Volunteers, Administrators and Coaches Training Program, will host the “Sixth Annual Careers in Youth in Sport” conference Saturday, April 8, 8:30 a.m. at the Student Center Building, 5221 Gullen Mall, on Wayne State’s main Detroit campus.

The conference will feature guest speakers, breakout sessions and a reception.

The three-fold purpose of the Sports Administration and Youth Sports Conference is to give its students and physical education related majors an opportunity to obtain information regarding careers in sports and youth sport activities; to offer young adults the opportunity to find out about local Youth Sports Programs and the different careers associated within them and to address the importance of volunteerism in youth sports.

Reservations are required and may be confirmed by calling (313) 577-5945, or visit: http://www.coe.wayne.edu/Grants/Vac/index.html. The registration fee is $25 per person; $10 for Wayne State students. Included in the registration fee is a continental breakfast and luncheon.
