Sly Fox highlights Annual Alumni Champagne Matinee

DETROIT – March 15, 2006 – The Wayne State University Alumni Association will roll out the red carpet for its annual Champagne matinee March 26 at the Hilberry Theatre. Alumni and friends will have an opportunity to see the farce Sly Fox and enjoy a Champagne reception with cookies and truffles during intermission.

“This event is always a favorite,” says alumni association Executive Director Marguerite Rigby. “It is one of the many ways the alumni association helps alumni and friends stay connected with Wayne State while allowing them to enjoy the university’s cultural offerings.”

The play, adapted from Ben Jonson’s 17th-century Volpone, was adapted by Larry Gelbart, who wrote for the movie Tootsie and the television series M*A*S*H. In Sly Fox he changes the setting from Renaissance-era Venice to 19th-century San Francisco.

Alumni association members receive a discount to the event. Cost of the play and reception is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. For additional information or to make a reservation, call (313) 577-2300 or visit www.alumni.wayne.edu/events.

The Wayne State University Alumni Association has been building loyalty and support among alumni for more than 70 years. No matter where they are in life or in the world, alumni association members stay connected through special events, personal and professional development, exclusive discounts, member-only publications and many other benefits.
