Wayne State University is noted as a regional site for FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) March 16-18. The event is part of the national 2006 FIRST Robotics Competition program. More than 1,125 teams from around the world are competing in 33 regionals to reach the championship in Atlanta in April.
