Wayne State will function as one of the official Park and Ride locations for downtown Super Bowl activities including: Motown Winter Blast, the NFL Experience and all game-day events. Super Bowl visitors can park at any of WSU’s main campus parking lots for $10 and take a shuttle to the above events Thursday, Feb. 2, through Sunday, Feb. 5.
WSU students and employees enrolled in the parking program or those who use their OneCard to pay for parking will access their parking facilities as usual. Those students and staff not enrolled in the parking program or who do not use the OneCard, will be charged the $10 cash rate for these days.
Regular WSU parking times apply for all employees and students. WSU will open its parking to the public at the following times:
* Thursday, Feb. 2, 6 p.m.–midnight
* Friday, Feb. 3, 3 p.m.–2 a.m.
* Saturday, Feb. 4, 10 a.m.–3 a.m.
* Sunday, Feb. 5, 10 a.m.–3 a.m.
The Park and Ride shuttle, provided by the Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT), will pick up riders in front of structures #1 (Palmer), #2 (Manoogian), #5 (Anthony Wayne Drive), #6 (Welcome Center) and lot #50 (Matthaei). On Sunday, Feb. 5, the shuttle only will pick up at parking structure #6 (Welcome Center). Shuttle signs will be posted. The Park and Ride shuttle will take riders south to the corner of Fort and Cass, where riders can walk to the People Mover or to any of the downtown venues, including the Motown Winter Blast.
The cost of the shuttle is $2 per person each ride. An unlimited daily shuttle pass will be available for $7, or a four-day pass valid Feb. 2–5 will be available for $20. Passes allow rides on any DDOT, SMART or TRANSIT WINDSOR buses, as well as the People Mover. Park and Ride shuttle passes are available at the lower level of the Student Center Building and at the WSU Barnes & Noble bookstore at the corner of Cass and Warren.
