Feeling SAD? So are 14 million other Americans

Seasonal affective disorder causes depression because of shortened exposure to daylight. Antidepressants work for 50 to 60 percent of the people with the disorder, and light therapy works for 70 percent of patients, says Dr. Alireza Amirsadri, a psychiatrist and SAD specialist at Wayne State University School of Medicine.
