Traffic is up at crisis centers at state universities

Jan Collins-Eaglin, director of the Counseling and Psychological Services program at Wayne State University , commented in a story about crisis centers at state universities experiencing an increase in students seeking help during November and December. Many students who needed help but were not in crisis situations were left with two options: wait for an appointment or forgo treatment. Postponing treatment is problematic because students who don't get help often feel increasingly hopeless, and that can lead to grave consequences, Collins-Eaglin said.
