UM president is top-paid public university head; Northwood president is 10th on private list

According to a study released yesterday in the Chronicle of Higher Education, University of Michigan President Mary Sue Coleman , who earns $724,604 in pay and benefits, is the highest-paid president of any public university in the country. No other Michigan presidents made the list of the 20 highest-paid public university presidents. Wayne State University President Irvin D. Reid is mentioned as receiving total compensation last year of $219,251.
