Cheryl Verbruggen has been appointed director of University Budgets at Wayne State University, effective Nov. 1. The announcement was made by Provost and Senior Vice President Nancy Barrett. The budget office is responsible for the preparation of the university’s General Fund budget.
Prior to joining Wayne State, Verbruggen served as associate director, Budget and Financial Planning at Oakland University (OU). Before her affiliation with OU, she held various financial positions at William Beaumont Hospital for more than a decade.
Verbruggen, a Troy resident, earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Oakland University and a master\'s degree in administration from Central Michigan University.
Verbruggen is married with two children.
