Bernice Lopata has been named associate vice president of advancement services and corporate and foundation relations. Lopata had been executive director of corporate and foundation relations and campaign operations. 

In the new position, Lopata will be responsible for corporate and foundation fundraising for the university, and working with a team of strategists and writers who support the schools and colleges. 

“By bringing all the advancement services (research, donor relations, fund office, information services, campaign marketing and communication) together under one person’s oversight, we expect to ensure a more seamless deployment of resources and an enhanced level of support for major gift officers, donors and friends,” Lopata said.

Lopata, a Royal Oak resident, has been with Wayne State for 10 years.  She started out as the director of corporate and foundation relations.
