The Wayne State University School of Social Work will host a 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, lecture, “Overlooked Aspects of Youth Violence: Implications for Social Work Intervention,” by Carl C. Bell, a renowned professor of psychiatry at the University of Illinois.
The 18th Annual Edith Harris Endowed Memorial Lecture is free and open to public at the Community Arts Auditorium (http://campusmap.wayne.edu/?location=COMM), 450 Reuther Mall, on Wayne State’s main campus in Midtown Detroit. Bell, president and CEO of Community Mental Health Council and Foundation, a 475-employee comprehensive mental health center in Chicago, has authored more than 275 articles on mental health. He is the director of Public and Community Psychiatry and a clinical professor of psychiatry and public health at the University of Illinois.
