Detroit — The Wayne State University, with nationally ranked programs and one of the largest graduate schools in the country, will host a Graduate School Open House from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wed., Aug. 3, at the Welcome Center, 42 W. Warren Ave., Detroit. Admissions representatives will be on hand to review applications at the event, and the $50 application fee will be waived for on-site participants.
"The Graduate School Open House will allow college graduates to talk with knowledgeable Graduate School counselors and program representatives to create a complete application package and potentially get an admissions decision on the spot," says Dr. Hilary H. Ratner, dean of the Graduate School. “It’s a great opportunity for people who have considered a graduate degree for career advancement but have not had the opportunity to investigate a graduate degree that fits their personal and professional needs.”
To accommodate participants’ busy schedules, appointments are encouraged and can be made by calling (313) 577-3577. "Applicants should bring their college transcripts as well as test scores from any entrance exams they may have taken," explains Ratner. This will allow admissions representatives to fast-track the admissions process.
Wayne State University has 13,000 graduate and professional students who choose from more than 60 doctoral degree programs, 130 master’s degree programs and 30-plus certificate, specialist and professional programs.
