Port Huron — Wayne State University, which has partnered with St. Clair County Community College (SC4) to bring Wayne State bachelor\'s degree courses to area residents, has established an office at the SC4 M-TEC Building. The office, located in the University Center suite, will be in room 101. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. The phone number is (810) 989-5808, option 7.
"It\'s important that students have the opportunity to meet with Wayne State representatives when exploring their degree options," said Robert Walsh, director, Macomb and St. Clair Counties, Metropolitan Programs and Summer Sessions. "This new office space will allow us to give one-on-one, personal attention to St. Clair County residents."
To introduce the community to Wayne State degree programs offered at SC4 – and give the public an opportunity to view the new office and meet with Wayne State representatives – an Open House will be held from 2 – 7 p.m. on June 1.
Also available during the Open House will be an "instant admission" service, to ensure students do not have to endure a lengthy application process. "Instant admission" will be offered to students who complete an application and pay the $30 enrollment fee by check or money order during the information session.
Beginning with the fall 2005 semester, Wayne State will offer courses leading to bachelor\'s degrees in Engineering Technology, Interdisciplinary Studies and Social Work, and the registration period is now open.
"I encourage everyone to attend the Open House or just stop by to say \'hello\' and learn more about our programs," said Walsh.
For more information on Wayne State programs at SC4 in Port Huron or to RSVP for the Open House, call (810) 989-5808, option 7.
