Listener support overwhelming for WDET\'s Spring Pledge Drive

Giving From Listeners Is 80 Percent Ahead Of Fall Pledge Drive

WDET\'s On-Air Pledge Drive Begins Thursday, March 31st

DETROIT - March 30, 2005 - Following the most successful "pre-pledge" campaign in its history, WDET kicks off the on-air portion of its Spring 2005 Pledge Drive tomorrow morning at 6am during Morning Edition. WDET has already received more than $182,000 in pledges from listeners, which is an 80 percent increase from the same period during the fall pledge drive. WDET\'s overall goal for the spring fundraiser is $807,000.

"Response from listeners during our pre-pledge campaign has been overwhelming," said Judy Adams, WDET program director and music host. "Having a good head start on our goal helps to reduce the length of the on-air fundraiser. The sooner we get to our goal the sooner we can return to the programming our listeners depend on."

WDET is offering an array of premiums to listeners who donate during this pledge drive, including the popular WDET Vintage Logo T-Shirt featuring the WDET logo from 1952. Another exciting premium is "WDET\'s Farewell To Neemi Jarvi," which includes a pair of tickets to one of Jarvi\'s final concerts as DSO Music Director followed by a private reception with the Maestro himself. Listeners can make their tax-deductible gift to WDET anytime by calling 1-800-959-WDET, or they can see all the premiums and donate online at wdetfm.org.
