Wayne State University and AVI FOODSYSTEMS announce the grand openings of Subway and Einstein Bros. Bagels this month on the university's main campus. Subway's grand opening is 7:30 a.m.- 8 p.m. March 23, 2005; Einstein Bros. Bagels' event is 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. March 24, 2005. These events will include product samplings, promotional item giveaways and coupon offerings.

Subway is on the north side of the Student Center Building. Einstein Bros. Bagels is in North Residence Hall on Anthony Wayne Drive, next door to Starbucks.

Subway offers an extensive menu that includes breakfast, made-to- order cold and hot subs, salads, wraps, beverages and cookies. Einstein Bros. Bagels offers an assortment of bagels, spreads, sandwiches, salads and beverages.

AVI FOODSYSTEMS opened these venues according to Wayne State University's strategic vision, which includes enhancing the quality of campus life by providing healthier dining options.

AVI FOODSYSTEMS is a family-owned food service company headquartered in Warren, Ohio. AVI acquired campus dining services and catering for all events at Wayne State University in 2002. In addition to the new Subway and Einstein Bros. Bagels venues, AVI operates Starbucks, Vital Signs Café in Scott Hall, Warrior Dining and Warrior Grille, as well as kiosks serving specialty sandwiches, salads and beverages in the F/AB, Law, and Pharmacy buildings at Wayne State University.
