Library System Associate Dean Jeff Trzeciak to Attend Leadership Institute

Jeff Trzeciak, associate dean of the Wayne State University Library System, was selected from over 200 applicants to attend the Frye Leadership Institute at Emory University in Druid Hills, Ga.

A member of their institutional leadership nominates participants for participation in the Frye Institute. Then they are selected competitively from among applicants who have a commitment to leadership within higher education.

The Institute selects attendees to reflect the backgrounds and diverse expertise within higher education. Through presentations, seminars and group projects, the Institute offers participants the opportunity to explore and analyze leadership challenges in higher education. The training begins with an intensive, two-week seminar on the Emory campus in June, followed by a yearlong practicum at the participants\' home campuses or in other appropriate settings. The training concludes with a summary session that reunites the participants to discuss and evaluate their studies. The Institute is sponsored by EDUCAUSE, the Council on Library and Information Resources and Emory University.

The Wayne State University Library System consists of the university\'s five libraries: The David Adamany Undergraduate Library, the Purdy/Kresge Library, the Shiffman Medical Library, the Arthur Neef Law Library and the Science and Engineering Library; and the Library and Information Science Program as well as the Office for Teaching and Learning.
