March 10, 2005 is Graduate Education Day in Michigan

 Detroit, Mich. -- Advanced education equals better paying jobs for graduates, highly skilled workers for employers and new goods and services for industries. Wayne State University has one of the largest graduate and professional schools in the country, ranking in the top 10 nationally, and its master\'s-level and Ph.D. graduates make Michigan work. That is why Wayne State University proudly recognizes March 10, 2005 as Graduate Education Day in Michigan.

To celebrate, Wayne State University is holding a Graduate Education Day reception:

    3:30 to 5 p.m.

    Detroit, Mich.

A short program during the reception will feature speakers on the importance of graduate education to Michigan and advanced degree programs available at Wayne State University.

Ratner. \"Wayne State\'s Graduate School is grounded in the belief that graduate education must be innovative in problem-solving, dynamic in the utilization of new knowledge and committed to the highest standards of teaching and research. These goals are aligned with Governor Jennifer Granholm\'s focus on doubling the number of college graduates and ensuring they have the skills to succeed in the 21st century workplace.\"

Wayne State University has nearly 13,000 graduate and professional students who choose from more than 60 doctoral degree programs, 130 master\'s degree programs and 30-plus certificate, specialist and professional programs.
