Hormone pills linked to urinary problems

Dr. Susan Hendrix of the WSU School of Medicine is quoted in a story about a new study that adds incontinence to the list of ailments that hormone pills had been thought to help prevent but now appear to worsen in older women. The findings came from the same government study that in recent years linked the widely-used supplements to higher risk of heart attacks, strokes, breast cancer and dementia. "We were hoping to find a gleam of hope for estrogen" after earlier negative findings, Hendrix said. She is the lead author for the study.
