NAACP WSU Chapter hosts poetry collective \'3rd Eye Open\' on March 2

The NAACP Wayne State University Chapter proudly presents "3rd Eye Open" poetry collective on Wednesday, March 2, in Room 150 of the General Lectures Auditorium. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 8:30 p.m.

"3rd Eye Open" is a team of five artists and activists who fuse word and rhythm into a thought provoking form of expression. The 3rd Eye Open Poetry Collective was born on May 19, 2002, in the spirit of Malcolm X and The Last Poets. Their poetry is an expression of black power, black love, black unity and black freedom. They have been featured on The Wake Up Show with JoAnn Watson, as well as the WJLB Morning Show with Coco, MC Search and Foolish.

This event is free to all Wayne State students. For additional information, contact (313) 595-8356 or naacpwsu@hotmail.com.

Sponsored by, but not necessarily the views of, Wayne State University's Student Council and the Dean of Students Office.
