WSU's games.wayne.edu Web site is first of its kind for a university

Detroit, MI - Want to play a game?

Targeting junior and high school students, Wayne State University's newly launched games.wayne.edu Web site, with a package of six retro-arcade games, is the first of its kind for a university. The site is designed to entertain prospective students and provide information about Wayne State in their medium of choice.

Games.wayne.edu features six original animated characters with WSU-related names: Anthony, Cassie, MacKenzie, Prentis, Wayne and Warrior. The characters bounce in and around challenging action games styled like Pac-Man and Breakout, as well as word and jigsaw puzzles. All of the games have sounds and most have varying levels of difficulty.

In addition to playing the games, site visitors can enter drawings for a free games.wayne.edu T-shirt featuring game characters and unique color combinations.

Visit games.wayne.edu to play the games and admissions.wayne.edu to view the new WSU undergraduate admissions Web site. The revamped site has all of the traditional information applicants need to know about the university, the admissions process, financial aid and how to apply online.

"Based upon where you are in your academic career, you'll be able to access information that is relevant to you as an incoming freshman, a working adult, a counselor or a parent," said Barb Donia, manager, Web Communication Solutions.

"This new energized site will keep students involved and entertained as they find the information they need," said Susan Zwieg, director, Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
