More Kids are living in poverty

Jason Booza, geographic information specialist with Wayne State's Center for Urban Studies, is quoted in a story about children under age 5 in Michigan who are living in poverty. Experts say a growing number of youths without sufficient health care are falling behind wealthier children in attendance at preschool programs that help form the basis for a successful life. Increasing poverty in Detroit that defies reports of an economic turnaround is a major factor, Booza says.
