The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) recently launched an innovative Medicare-approved drug discount card program for seniors that offers steeper discounts than the myriad other Medicare-approved discount cards offered by insurers, drug-makers and pharmacies. Discounts through the DMC card are about 10 percent better than prices in Canada, where government price controls make pharmaceuticals up to 50 percent cheaper than in the United States.
