Wayne State University announces In Circulation: The Arts and Communication

Making the arts and communication more accessible than ever

DETROIT - Wayne State University's College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts and the University Library System collaborated in the creation of a series of short lecture/performances or demonstrations titled In Circulation: The Arts and Communication. Programs contain an educational component and contribute to the vibrancy of the on-campus student experience at Wayne State.   This exciting new series is made up of short, 30 to 60-minute programs on a Wednesday in each month and takes place in the atrium of the David Adamany Undergraduate Library at the center of campus.

    Wednesday, November 17 No Feare Shakespeare The Elizabethan Age intersects with the 21st Century in this interactive performance. Watch student actors from the WSU Department of Theatre perform Romeo and Juliet like you've never seen it. Atrium of the David Adamany Undergraduate Library; 3:00 - 3:30 p.m.

    Wednesday, December 8 Heat in December: Jazz Trio Join student musicians from the WSU Department of Music for some spicy bluegrass and hot jazz in this question/answer and performance session. Atrium of the David Adamany Undergraduate Library; 3:00 - 3:30 p.m.

    Wednesday, January 19 Dance Telematics: A Concert Preview See how an artistic collaboration is transformed through global internet connections. Enjoy a sneak preview of the upcoming Telematics Dance Concert, by WSU's Maggie Allesee Department of Dance, which connects dancers, musicians and media artists from around the world in a real-time performance. Atrium of the David Adamany Undergraduate Library; 2:00 - 2:30 p.m.

    Wednesday, February 16 Student Video Mini Festival Students from the Media Arts and Studies program in the WSU Department of Communication present projects from their video and film production courses. The student directors will be on hand to screen and field questions about their works. Atrium of the David Adamany Undergraduate Library; 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.

    Wednesday, March 23 A Breath of Fresh Design Come see new and innovative designs displayed by students in the Fashion Design and Merchandising program of the WSU Department of Art and Art History. Student fashion designers will talk about their inspirations and methods. Atrium of the David Adamany Undergraduate Library; 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.

The Wayne State University College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts is educating the next generation of visual artists, musicians, communication professionals and professional actors and dancers.
