Expert on South Asian politics and economics speaking

Sumit Ganguly, one of the foremost experts on South Asian politics and economics, will be speaking on Friday, Oct. 22, 6:30 p.m., at the St. Clair room of the Novi Sheraton Hotel, 21111 Haggerty Rd., in Novi.

Sponsored by Wayne State University's Detroit Council for World Affairs (DCWA), in the College of Urban, Labor and Metropolitan Affairs, and BBK, an international business advisory firm, the event and dinner is free and open to the general public.

Ganguly, a Rabindranath Tagore Chair in Indian Cultures and Civilizations at Indiana University in Bloomington, will be speaking on "South Asian Economic Developments and U.S. Policy."

The purpose of DCWA is to promote a deeper understanding of international issues, as well as Detroit's role in a changing world, by providing members with a non-partisan, nation-wide forum for informed dialogue, analysis and debate.
