Pssst, the Bonestelle Theatre opens with A Flea in Her Ear, pass it on

Wayne State University's Bonstelle Theatre Company will launch its 52nd season on October 29th with a production of A Flea in Her Ear. Written in 1894 by French playwright Georges Feydeau, it was adapted (and updated) by Frank Galati in 1988. This farce set in the 1960s will have audiences rolling in the aisles with tears running down their cheeks.

The story centers around Victor Deboshe and his suspicious wife, Yvonne. A misplaced pair of suspenders leads Yvonne and her friend Lucille to produce a fake love letter to Victor as a test of his fidelity. Victor accepts the bait and further complicates things by persuading his friend Maurice to attend the rendezvous scheduled in the letter at the notorious Hotel Pussy-a-Go-Go. When Maurice arrives he finds Lucille's husband, a jealous Spaniard, waiting for him, and chaos ensues. This French farce runs amuck with slamming doors, mistaken identities and mismatched partners.

Audiences attending A Flea in Her Ear will also have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with an important piece of Detroit's history by visiting the display celebrating 100 years of history in the historic Bonstelle room on the second floor of The Bonstelle Theatre.

A Flea in Her Ear is directed by Dr. James Thomas and features the talents of Joe Kvoriak (Eastpointe), Joe Porter (Cheboygan), Jennifer Sessions (Fraser), Whitney Green (Livonia), Mike Feidler (Fraiser), Kristen Pickthall (Windsor, ONT), Mark Trotter (Birmingham), Matt Simonian (Dearborn), Jennifer Shier (Warren), Anton Asuquo (Detroit), Lori Goe Perez (Sterling Heights), Jerry Bellanger (Plymouth), Brandon Chowen (Warren), Jessica Cermak (Sterling Heights), Lauren Shafer (Farmington Hills), Peter Jurich, (Dearborn) and Sam Brillhart (Detroit).
