Educational and Funny Research Honored

Steven Stack, sociologist in the Criminal Justice Department at WSU, is among this year's winners of the Ig Nobel Prizes, a tongue-in-cheek awards competition held at Harvard University. Stack and research partner James Gundlach of Auburn University did a study several years ago that found a correlation between listening to country music and suicide rates. The study received national media attention. The two researchers received their Ig Noble Award in the medicine category last week.
