Cleaning up on campus

A new beautification and recycling initiative on the Wayne State campus is providing high-traffic areas with attractive container collection units at no cost to the university. The three-year experimental program, which began this fall, involves placement of "PartnerBins" by an outdoor advertising firm. Under the program, the cost will be covered by advertisers who will pay for space on the front and back of the units. "It is a means for helping to keep the campus attractive while also encouraging recycling," explains Nabelah Ghareeb, assistant vice president for business operations and auxiliary services. The story includes a photo of a PartnerBin on Gullen Mall.
