Last night were the 2003-2004 Theatre Awards hosted by Between the Lines Newspaper. The Hilberry Theatre was nominated in 9 different categories (out of 15), we received awards in 8. They include:
- Favorite Local Professional Production,Comedy: Lovers and Executioners, directed by guest artist, David Hay
- Favorite Local Professional Production, Drama: Glengarry Glen Ross, directed by WSU faculty, David Magidson
- Favorite Female Performer in a Local Professional Production, Comedy: Nikki Ferry, Lovers and Executioners, Just finished at WSU now performing at The Cincinnati Playhouse
- Favorite Male Performer in a Professional Local Production, Drama: Josh Eikenberry, The Kentucky Cycle, Just finished at WSU, pursuing acting career in NYC
- Favorite Supporting Female in a Professional Local Production, Comedy: Christi Marsico, Lovers and Executioners Just finished, ready to mount her one woman show, The Taxidermists Daughter, in Los Angeles
- Favorite Supporting Male in a Professional Local Production, Comedy: Tony Bozzuto, Lovers and Executioners, Current third year Hilberry Company actor will be seen next in this season's production of The Merry Wives of Windsor by William Shakespeare
- Favorite Supporting Female in a Professional Local Production, Drama: Jennifer Tuttle, The House of Blue Leaves, Just finished here, now performing at the Milwaukee Repertory Company
- Favorite Supporting Male in a Professional Local Production, Drama: Nick DePinto, current third year Hilberry actor, will next be seen in the 2004-2005 season opening production of Blythe Spirit by Noel Coward.
What a season we had! All told, every single play on the season was nominated for an award. To say we are pleased would be a very big understatement!
