Wayne State University hosting Max Mark Lecture: Nationally renowned Professor Hubert C. Locke to discuss Holocaust and Armenian Genocide

Professor Hubert C. Locke, former provost for academic affairs and dean emeritus of the Evans School of Public Affairs at the University of Washington, will speak at a free luncheon on Friday, April 23 at noon in the McGregor Memorial Conference Center on the Wayne State University campus.

This presentation, of the Max Mark Lecture is titled "An African-American Perspective on the Holocaust and the Armenian Genocide," and is sponsored by the Cohn-Haddow Center for Judaic Studies at Wayne State University.

Locke was the first executive director of the Citizens Committee for Equal Opportunity in Detroit; a former administrative assistant to the Detroit Commissioner of Police; an adjunct assistant professor of urban education and a fellow of the Center for Urban Studies at Wayne State University. He is the author and editor of several books and many book chapters regarding race, criminal justice, religion and public policy.

The program's co-sponsors include: Center for Peace and Conflict Studies, College of Education, German and Slavic Studies, umanities Center, Interdisciplinary Studies, Office of the Provost, College of Urban, Labor and Metropolitan Affairs (CULMA), department of political science, Phi Beta Kappa at Wayne State University, Armenian Research Center, Voice-Vision Project and Mardigian Library at the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
