Mathew Engelbert of Ann Arbor has been appointed assistant dean for advancement and external relations at the Wayne State University Law School. He will direct fundraising efforts, alumni relations' activities and communications.
A 1997 cum laude of the WSU Law School, Engelbert was previously regional director of development for southeast Michigan for Michigan State University. He also served as senior endowment associate with the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit and as an assistant director for development with the University of Michigan Medical Center.
A published novelist and professional vocalist, Engelbert serves on the board of directors for the Bernard L. Maas Foundation and is a trustee for The Parade Company in Detroit. He graduated with distinction from the University of Michigan School of Business, is married and has three children.
