David Bonior, a former Democratic congressman who teaches labor issues at Wayne State's College of Urban, Labor and Metropolitan Affairs, commented on John Kerry's campaign promises for increases in employment numbers. "Kerry has to pound away on the economy and the loss of manufacturing jobs and the 5 million people who have lost health care in this administration," Bonior said.
