Michael Ryback, a professor of pharmacy practice, has been named associate dean of research for Wayne State's Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
Ryback is also a director of the Anti-Infective Research Laboratory at the Eugene Applebaum College. His research specializes in the area of antimicrobials, which are pharmaceuticals that destroy or inhibit the growth of microorganisms.
In addition his teaching and research duties, Rybak is a founding member and immediate past president of the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists. He is also a fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
Rybak received his doctorate of pharmacy and his master's degree in community health sciences at Wayne State University. He earned his bachelor's in pharmacy from Northeastern University in Boston. Rybak is board certified as a pharmacotherapy specialist by the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialists with added qualifications for Infectious Diseases Pharmacotherapy.
