Wayne State University Bachelor's Degree Courses are now at SC4

Information and Registration session set for December 1 at SC4

Port Huron, Mich. -- Wayne State University has partnered with St. Clair County Community College (SC4) to bring Wayne State bachelor's degree courses to area residents. Classes will start on January 10, 2005.

The offerings include courses from the Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology. "Wayne State is pleased to join forces with SC4 to bring these bachelor's degree courses to St. Clair County," said Robert Walsh, County Director in Wayne State's Metropolitan Programs and Summer Sessions office.

The public is invited to attend an Information and Registration Session from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1 at SC4's M-TEC Center, located at the corner of Erie and Glenwood streets in Port Huron. Admissions representatives, program advisors and financial aid specialists will be on hand. Also available during the session will be the "instant admission" service, to ensure students do not have endure a lengthy application process. "Instant admission" will be offered to students who complete an application and pay the $30 enrollment fee by check or money order during the information session.

According to Walsh, "The Interdisciplinary Studies degree is ideal for the working professional who already has some college credit, as the program will accept up to 64 credits of coursework and credits from every associate degree."

The Engineering Technology degree allows students to get hands-on in an industrial career. "Engineering Technology deals with the application of knowledge and skills to industrial processes, production and management," said Walsh. "Education in this field is in high demand, and we're excited to provide these classes to St. Clair County residents."

Wayne State also plans to offer bachelor's degrees in Business Administration and in Social Work, beginning in the fall of 2005 at SC4. Information on these programs also will be available during the December 1 session.
