The two-story, 28,000 square foot structure will be open to the public as well as the university community. Special features include a Wayne State Warriors apparel and merchandise section, music section with listening stations, children's book section, coffee shop and a convenience store for snacks and sundries. Large murals visible through windows fronting busy Warren Avenue depict current and past scenes of campus life. The building is adjacent to a new, 700-space parking structure that serves the bookstore and the nearby Welcome Center.

The impressive WSU Bookstore is part of an unprecedented $108 million building boom at Wayne State during the past year. A six-story, $19.9 million residence hall was completed in time for the fall term. Grand opening ceremonies for the Welcome Center were Sept. 12 and, on Oct. 10, the university celebrated the grand opening of its $64 million Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Building on the Detroit Medical Center campus.

Wayne State University is a premier institution of higher education offering more than 350 academic programs through 13 schools and colleges to more than 31,000 students in metropolitan Detroit.
