Farmington Hills - The Wayne State University Oakland Center will host its first annual Homecoming Pep Rally, Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 4-6 p.m. The rally will take place in the center's main parking lot.
This free event is open to the community and will include refreshments and door prizes. Among those anticipated to participate will be cheerleaders from Wayne State and local high schools, members of the Wayne State hockey team and Student Government and others.
According to Bobbie A. Walls, center director, the Pep Rally is an "excellent venue to display our school spirit and excitement." The rally is also an opportunity to bring the university and community closer together.
The Oakland Center opened its doors in 1995. It is the largest of the university's three comprehensive centers with 72 classrooms. Course offerings include classes in a master's degree in Business Administration, Library Science and Social Work, as well as a variety of undergraduate courses.
