The Wayne State University Board of Governors will hold its next regular meeting Wednesday, May 1, in the Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium, Wayne State University Campus, 471 West Palmer, Law School Building, in Detroit.
The board meetings are divided into different sessions. The board's standing committee meetings begin at noon, and are open to the public. The Academic Affairs Committee will meet at noon and Budget and Finance Committee at 12:30.Following a break, the board returns for a public session again at 4 p.m.
During the 4 p.m. session, two special presentations will occur: Roberta Hughes Wright, widow of Charles H. Wright, founder of Detroit's African American History museum that bears his name, will receive a resolution honoring her late husband. Recipients of the annual Faculty Recognition awards will be recognized for their particular work of merit in 2001. The work of merit is a single act or event that constituted an outstanding contribution to scholarship and learning.
