Wayne State professor named Real Estate Fellow

NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA -- Dr. Allen Charles Goodman was among three internationally-known educators recently named Fellow of the Homer Hoyt Institute's School of Advanced Studies in Real Estate and Land Economics (HHASI). Following a year of extensive research, Dr. Goodman presented his findings at the HHASI annual meeting and was accepted as a Fellow of the Institute.

The Homer Hoyt Institute has become an internationally-recognized research organization devoted to land economics and real estate analysis since its founding in 1967. It funds studies in cooperation with universities, government and other research organizations, as well as sponsors the School of Advanced Studies located in North Palm Beach, Florida.

Professor of Economics at Wayne State University, Dr. Goodman is noted for his expertise and research in the areas of housing prices, housing demand and housing market discrimination. A recipient of the Career Development Chair for scholarship potential, Wayne State University, 1988; the Charles S. Gershenson Award for faculty scholarship, Wayne State University, 1994; and the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Award for best healthcare article published in 1996, he has been actively involved with the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association (AREUEA), the American Economic Association (AEA) and the Fannie Mae Foundation.

Dr. Goodman holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University and an A.B., with distinction, in Economics from The University of Michigan. He has published numerous articles and papers.
