The WSU Graduate School and the Office for Teaching and Learning will sponsor orientation sessions for new graduate teaching assistants Aug. 29-Sept.1, Donna Green, director of the Office for Teaching and Learning, has announced.
Orientation for all graduate teaching assistants will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Aug. 29-30 at the David Adamany Undergraduate Library.
A special session for international graduate teaching assistants will beheld from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 31 in Room 91, Manoogian Hall.
Among the topics covered will be campus resources, copyright law, diversity, ethical issues, grading, pay and benefits, and more.
The segments for international students will also cover communication in the classroom. On all three days, there will be opportunities for practice teaching sessions that will be videotaped for discussion purposes.
