WSU sponsors conference on controversies in reproductive endocrinology and infertility

Wayne State University’s School of Medicine will host an educational conference Aug. 10 through Aug. 12 on Mackinac Island about controversies in reproductive endocrinology and infertility.

The conference, which targets general OB/GYN practitioners, will feature discussions on the latest news in the field, including the latest treatments for uterine fibroid tumors, the future of molecular medicine in the area, treatments for osteoporosis and preimplantation genetic diagnosis.

The conference will feature the world’s leading experts in the field of reproductive endocrinology and infertility, many of whom are WSU faculty physicians. WSU’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is ranked fifth in the nation in terms of National Institutes of Health funding.

With more than 1,000 medical students, WSU is among the nation’s largest medical schools. Together with the Detroit Medical Center, the school is a leader in patient care and medical research in a number of areas including cancer, genetics, women’s and children’s health, and the neurosciences.

Members of the press who wish to attend should call Jennifer Day at (313) 577-1058.
