News Alert: WSU expert to testify on asbestos-related diseases before U.S. Senate committee Tuesday

WSU professor to urge Senate to increase federal funding for study of deadly diseases

Dr. Michael Harbut, a Wayne State University assistant professor of internal medicine and an expert on environmental health, will testify in Washington Tuesday before the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions about a need for increased federal funding to study asbestos-related diseases.

The hearing, which is at 2 p.m. in 430 Dirksen Senate Office Building, will focus on workplace safety and asbestos contamination.
