Rape Aggression Defense School at WSU May 23-25
Wayne State's Public Safety Department will host a three-day Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) Instructors' School at the Matthaci Athletic Complex May 23, 24 and 25. Some 20 police officers will take the training, which allows them to set up similar programs in their own communities. About 3.500 officers have been certified through this program - which combines threat avoidance and assault resistance - since 1989. Middle School students and breast cancer
WDIV-TV4's Lila Lazarus and a crew from Fox-2 will interview students and parents participating in the University Public School's "Breast Cancer Awareness Week" program at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 24. The students range in age from 11 to 14. The teacher and sponsor is Ms. Renee Jenkins, who can be reached at the school, (313) 964-1600. Karmanos Cancer Institute is helping out. The principal is Fred Borowski. The school is located near Masonic Temple, at 2727 Second Avenue.
