WSU junior a finalist for statewide award
Wayne State junior in physical therapy Katie McSween is one of five finalists for the Governor's Service Award. The award acknowledges Michigan citizens involved in volunteer service and honors those whose commitment to community and service to others is exemplary. Award winners will be announced during the eighth annual awards ceremony May 21. Among her countless volunteer activities, McSween recently cut off 10 inches of her hair and donated it to Project Compassion, an organization that makes wigs for children who lose their hair because of chemotherapy and other treatments.
