Wayne State University Professor Michael L. Liebler of St. Clair Shores is one of four recipients of this year's WSU Board of Governors Faculty Recognition Awards for his book Written in Rain: New and Selected Poems 1985-2000. Liebler is an English professor in the College of Liberal Arts.
The award consists of a citation, an engraved plaque and an unrestricted grant of $2,500.
He is the author of several books and has contributed to numerous publications in journals and anthologies. He is also featured in recordings and videos.
Liebler joined the WSU faculty in 1980 and also currently serves on the faculties of Macomb Community College and the YMCA of USA National Arts and Humanities.
Liebler received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Oakland University.
