The WSU Sports Administration Program and the Volunteers, Administrators and Coaches (VAC) Training Program will hold the inaugural "Sports Administration Youth Sports Conference" Saturday, March 24, in the Adamany Undergraduate Library.
The conference, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., will feature eight speakers, a panel discussion and a roundtable luncheon.
Featured speakers will include Tyler Barnes, senior director of marketing for the Detroit Tigers, discussing "Sports Marketing Careers," and Julia Baldwin, a professional with the Ladies Professional Golf Association, speaking on "Urban Youth Golf."
Participants from the Detroit Lions, Northwestern and Michigan State universities, the Detroit Recreation Department, the Midnight Basketball and Golf leagues and other organizations are scheduled.
