"Multimedia Approaches to Documenting the Holocaust and Armenian Genocide" is the title of this year's annual conference on the Holocaust and Armenian Genocide. Sponsored by the Wayne State University Division of Governmental and Community Affairs, the conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, at WSU's McGregor Memorial Conference Center.
Ron Frank, Frank Productions, Inc. will present his documentary film The Etemal Road: An Encounter with the Past. Professor Christopher Simpson, School of Communication, American University, Washington, D. C. will discuss the documentary Voices from the Lake. Clips from the films will be shown during the conference; the entire films will be screened after the discussions end at 2:30p.m.
Dennis Papazian, professor and director of the Armenian Research Center, and Professor, Sidney Bolkosky, both from the University of Michigan, Dearborn will discuss methods of compiling oral histories.
Anyone interested in learning about documentary approaches will want to attend. The conference fee is $25 (including lunch and conference materials). Limited scholarships are available for students.
