The Wayne State University Board of Governors will hold its next regular meeting Wednesday, March 28, in Alumni House on campus.
The board meetings are divided into three different sessions. The board's standing committee meetings begin at noon, and are open to the public. The board takes a two-hour break for a private executive session at about 1:45 p.m., then returns to a public session again at 3:30 p.m.
Agendas will be available on March 23.
For an agenda or additional information, contact the Office of the Secretary at (313) 577-2034.
WSU's Board of Governors is one of three university governing bodies in Michigan (including the University of Michigan and Michigan State University) that has constitutional independence. Its eight elected members are picked by voters throughout Michigan and are elected to eight-year terms.
The constitutional independence of the boards protects the members from political interference. Selection by the voters in statewide elections assures that the universities remain responsible to the public at large.
Wayne State University is a premier institution of higher education offering more than 350 academic programs through 14 schools and colleges to more than 31,000 students in metropolitan Detroit.
